Shinkula Pass :-
Shinkula Pass is a mountain in India, on the border between Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. There is a shallow lake or pool 20m below the pass. The pass is on a long-distance footpath linking Zanskar and Lahaul, used often by locals and trekkers alike.
There is snow on the spend lasting through the year. There is an authority sign announcing stature of the pass as 16,615.500 feet.
This pass might be considered as a passage highlight Lugnak Valley in Zanskar. The closest possessed town on Zanskar side is Kurgiakh and on the Lahaul side is Chikka. Both the towns by and large includes two days traveling from the pass.
It was built in 2015 and it’s very steep, only for 4×4 vehicles. The new road connects the Lahaul Valley with Zanskar Valley.
The road is very dangerous. Avalanches, heavy snowfalls and landslides can occur anytime, being extremely dangerous due to frequent patches of ice. It remains closed for vehicular activities from October onward till month of June every year.
The Manali-Shinkula-Nimmu highway will be the third major highway to connect landlocked Ladakh with the main land after Srinagar-Leh and Manali-Leh highways.
