Baralacha Pass :-

Baralacha Pass is a high mountain pass. This is situated at the tallness of 16,040 feet over the ocean level and is arranged in the Zanskar range. It is one of the great height engine capable mountain passes. Baralacha La Pass is arranged at a height of 4820mtr.This 8 kilometers in length pass interfaces the Lahaul locale in Himachal Pradesh to Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir and is situated along the Leh-Manali thruway.

The distance among Manali and the Baralacha La is 190.4 km. Because of the great height it requires roughly 6 hours to venture to every part of the distance.

Legend Behind Baralacha Pass :-

According to a famous legend, there were two lovers, Chandra and Bhaga. While Chandra was the daughter of the Moon, Bhaga was the son of Surya and the Sun God. To perform their eternal marriage then they decided to climb the Baralacha.

After they had climbed the pass they ran off in separate directions. Chandra, who was smart & active, found her way quite easily & reached Tandi (a small village), covering a distance of almost 115 kilometers.

Soon, Bhaga also reached Tandi, after struggling a lot, where they both met, followed by a celestial marriage.
