Kullu Naggar :-

Kullu Naggar is a district in Himachal Pradesh, India. The district lies in central Himachal and is famous for its tourist stations. It is located on the banks of the Beas River in the Kullu Valley about 10 kilometres north of the airport at Bhuntar.

The biggest valley in the area is known as the Kullu Valley which is otherwise called the Valley of the Gods.

Naggar Castle :-

It is a medieval castle, located in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, India. Built by Raja Sidh Singh of Kullu in around 1460 A.D.

It was taken over to Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC), to run as a heritage hotel, since 1978.

It was the official seat of kings for centuries. According to a legend, Raja Sidh Singh used stones from the abandoned palace (Gardhak) of Rana Bhonsal to build the castle.

He ordered the labourers to form a human chain over the Beas river connecting its left and right banks to transfer the stones manually.

The ancient masterpiece serves as both a rest house and a tourist attraction. It boasts of an art gallery which comprises of several paintings made by a Russian artist Nicholas Roerich.

His private rooms and collectables are also on display.Not only this but the castle has even made an appearance on the silver screen as well.
